- Biographical Information
I am originally from southwestern Wisconsin. I attended college at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, have a BME from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA and an MA in Vocal Pedagogy from Ohio State. I am retired after 31 years on administrative staff at Ohio State and have had the privilege of being a professional vocal musician in central Ohio the past 30 years performing with various ensembles as soloist, chorale member and section leader (The Early Interval, LancasterChorale, Cantari Singers, BelCanto Singers, Columbus Symphony Chorus, among others). I’ve been full-time soloist at Second Church, Christ Scientist, as well as First Church, and was cantor and choir member at St. Joseph Cathedral in the 1990s. I have experience as a vocal and instrumental solo and ensemble and choir accompanist/coach and as a college recital accompanist/coach, and choral accompanist. I am also an organist (not pipe organ) and currently substitute at Second Church. I have been organist or soloist for nearly 400 weddings and funerals. I’ve performed piano programs at senior living facilities in Wisconsin and have recently performed and created a professional relationship in Westerville and am looking for additional paid opportunities to entertain our senior residents.

- Artistic Statement
From a very early age, I enjoyed accompanying vocal and instrumental musicians and learned much through the challenge or working with other artists, including those who were open to coaching as we worked as a team. I am very interested in locating paid opportunities as a wedding or funeral pianist, organist or soloist. I’m also looking to again work as a high school solo and ensemble or choir accompanist/coach in a central Ohio school, or as a paid college recital accompanist/coach, or choral accompanist. I am also an organist and available as a substitute organist or pianist in most church settings (not pipe organ). For the last five years, I’ve performed piano programs at several senior living facilities in southwest Wisconsin and have recently performed and created a professional relationship in Westerville, OH and am looking for additional paid opportunities to entertain our senior residents. I have had the privilege of being a professional vocal musician in central Ohio the past 30 years performing with various ensembles as soloist, chorale member and section leader (The Early Interval, LancasterChorale, Cantari Singers, BelCanto Singers, Columbus Symphony Chorus, among others). I’ve been soloist at First and Second Church, Christ Scientist, and was cantor and choir member at St. Joseph Cathedral in the 1990s. I am also very interested in working with composers on new contemporary literature as soloist or chamber musician.

As an accompanist, the team approach has always worked for me. You are supporting the soloist, but at the same time you are both teaching each other new methods of interpretation, and learning from each other. As a soloist, you have to work together with the accompanist, sharing what your interpretation is but also remain flexible in working together to create the work as the composer created. As a composer’s wife, the work is created but the soloist, ensemble and director all work together as one to make the creation a realization.
